Where the ads are.
Ads pay for FreeCal, so you don't have to. This page says where they sit, how often you'll see them, and which advertisers we block.
Three placements
Search, barcode, favourites, recents and quick add never carry an ad.
What we will not advertise
A food diary is the wrong place for a weight-loss ad. Our blocklist with the ad network covers diet pills, fat burners, appetite suppressants, detox and cleanse products, weight-loss supplements, and before-and-after body ads.
Blocklists leak. If an ad gets through, tap Report on it or email andrew@getfreecal.com and we'll add the advertiser.
The tracking prompt
iOS will ask once whether FreeCal may track you across other apps and websites. That controls the advertising identifier the ad network uses to pick ads. It has nothing to do with your diary.
Say no and nothing about the app changes. You'll see the same number of ads in the same places; they'll just be less relevant. There's also an Ad personalisation switch in Settings that does the same thing.
What you ate, what you weigh, your targets, your photos and anything from Apple Health stay on your phone. The privacy policy lists every provider and what each one receives.
Turning them off
No Ads is $19.99 a year or $49.99 once. It removes the banner, the daily full-screen ad, and the video before a photo scan. It doesn't unlock any features, because the free app already has all of them.
We may change where ads appear and how often. If we do, this page changes too.
